Nemanja Vidic has shed light on Manchester United’s disastrous 2013-14 campaign claiming that the players fought with themselves rather than manager David Moyes who was sacked last month.

The 32 year old Serbian who will be joining Italian giants Inter Milan in the summer claimed, “We argued amongst ourselves. This year more than any other, because when you have bad times, people show they care. We are still friends, but we were arguing to get better. We wanted to improve.”

“We could say those things to each other because we have been together for so long, but it hurt. If you didn’t argue, it would not be right. We had some hard moments in the dressing room between ourselves.”

The Red Devils finished a disappointing seventh in the Premier League standings, a whopping 22 points behind Champions Manchester City and failed to get past the quarter finals of the Champions League aside from their domestic cup disappointments.

Ryan Giggs took charge to see the season out for the Old Trafford side but there will be wholesale changes at the club in the summer. It is expected that Louis Van Gaal will take charge and the Dutch legend will have a massive transfer kitty to restructure the squad to fight for silverware next campaign.

Rio Ferdinand is also set to walk out of the club after 12 glittering years while Patriuce Evra’s future also remains uncertain as United seem close to snap up Southampton left back Luke Shaw for £27m.

Vidic however was apprehensive of United’s 2014-15 campaign saying that new ideas and methods will certainly be the dawn of a new future at the club.It is like resetting a computer and starting again.”
