It’s a new week, and to kickstart the new week, we’ve got plenty of transfer news and rumors involving some of the game’s top names to get your brain stirring again

Below, we have transfer rumors from England, Italy, and Spain, so if you’re a fan of the Premier League, La Liga, or Serie A, you should get your fill of transfer tidbits today.

Ronaldo Rules Out Real Move

It took a long while (and probably some force) for this to come out last summer, but Cristiano Ronaldo is already saying that he has no intentions of leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid. (Sky Sports)

Analysis: You can never say for sure until we’re in September again, but if he didn’t know already that he has it good at United, Real’s whipping at the hands of Barcelona was about as good as reality checks come.

United Won’t Be Going Cuckoo Over Kaka

There was speculation linking Manchester United to AC Milan’s Kaka, but Sir Alex Ferguson has put the kibosh on that one, saying in so many words that United wouldn’t pay the kind of money needed to land him. (Sky Sports)

Analysis: The only way that this deal would happen would be if Cristiano Ronaldo left, and that doesn’t appear to be happening, so this one will just have to be played out on Football Manager.

Liverpool to Move for Barry Again?

So, Gareth Barry might be leaving Aston Villa in search of Champions League football, and naturally, the destination is Liverpool. But, Liverpool would have to sell Xabi Alonso, and as it happens, Juventus are interested. (Daily Mail)

Analysis: Wait a second…we’ve heard this before, haven’t we?

Heinze to Liverpool…Finally

After Manchester United opted to sell Gabriel Heinze to Real Madrid instead of Liverpool two summers ago, Liverpool could finally get their man this summer, with Real Madrid ready to part ways with the veteran left back. (Tribal Football)

Analysis: Where there’s a will, there’s a way, eh Liverpool?

Negredo to Swap Almeria for Anfield?

Almeria striker Alvaro Negredo is also near the top of Liverpool‘s wish list. Real Madrid have a buy-back clause on Negredo that they will likely use in the summer so that they can profit from selling him. (Sporting Life)

Analysis: Negredo has been a huge reason why Almeria are pushing for two straight top-half finishes in a row, scoring 13 goals last season and 19 this season, and at 23, he can only get better, especially if he has the chance to play alongside compatriot Fernando Torres.

Tottenham to Swap Jenas for Muntari?

There were probably a few giggles when Jermaine Jenas was linked to Inter in January, but it’s coming up again, with Jenas heading to Milan in exchange for Sulley Muntari, who could make a quick return to the Premier League. (The Mirror)

Analysis: Jenas has skills, no doubt, but at first glance, Tottenham would appear to be coming out of this one a lot better.

Barton Finally Done at Newcastle?

After Joey Barton acted like the old Joey Barton and got himself sent off late in Sunday’s defeat at Liverpool, reports are rampant that Barton has finally run out of opportunities. (Daily Mail)

Analysis: I suppose it’s worth considering that, red card or not, the chances are high that he’d be leaving in the summer anyway, if Newcastle do get relegated, unless he wanted to take a big ol’ pay cut.

Birmingham Want Man City’s Hart on Loan

Birmingham, who sealed automatic promotion back to the Premier League on Sunday, are interested in paying a 1m loan fee to bring Manchester City keeper Joe Hart to Upton Park. (The Mirror)

Analysis: Depending on if City pursue another keeper in the summer, this could be a viable option for Hart, who needs first-team opportunities to entertain any thoughts of being in Fabio Capello’s consideration, but won’t get them as long as he’s stuck behind Shay Given.

Real Madrid Want Manchester United’s Evra

Out goes one former Manchester United left back, in comes another? Real Madrid are looking at Patrice Evra to be their next left back. But, if that doesn’t work, then Arsenal’s Gael Clichy is a backup option. (Tribal Football)

Analysis: Let’s see, a nice way to put this would be to say that Real’s chances of landing Evra are slim to none. However, the same may well not apply to Clichy.

Inter Enter Race for Van der Vaart

It looks like that Rafael Van der Vaart will be leaving Real Madrid after one forgettable season, and Inter are one of the clubs vying for his signature, along with Chelsea. (

Analysis: We know how good Van der Vaart is when he’s on, and all it might take for him to get back to top form is a move away from Madrid. I still think Real got him for much less than what he was worth at the time, but what they paid for him would still be within reason now, given his talents and experience.

Juve Make Offer for Werder Bremen’s Diego

Werder Bremen star Diego has said that Juventus have made an offer for his services. (

Analysis: It’d be a big blow for Werder Bremen to lose Diego, but if they get the fee that they’re looking for from Juve, it could buy them a good few young Brazilian playmakers.
