Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all being touted with January moves in Sunday’s press, with the Premier League trio all mentioned as clubs looking to seal deals when the window reopens.
Louis van Gaal has been speaking out about the prospect of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, while Chelsea are being linked with one of world football’s most lethal strikers.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on a Serie A star but face stern competition from Barcelona for his signature.
Van Gaal admits he wants Ronaldo
The potential for former Old Trafford favourite Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United has received a boost, with manager Louis van Gaal admitting he wants to resign the Portugal international.
Ronaldo was booed by a section of his own support in yesterday’s 4-0 Clasico defeat to Barcelona and Van Gaal has confessed he would love to see the current Ballon d’Or holder back in England.
“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo,” The Guardian quote the Dutchman as saying.
“But these players are mostly ungettable. With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope. There is no trainer in the world that doesn’t like him.”
Chelsea turn to Aubameyang
The Sun have today stated that Chelsea are ready to make a move for Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
A reported long-term target of Arsenal, the Blues are said to want the African attacker to revitalise Jose Mourinho’s attacking options.
Arsenal track Florenzi but have Barca for competition
However, the report suggests that European champions Barcelona have identified the Italian as a possible long-term replacement for Dani Alves and will look to make a move for Florenzi in the new year.
