Sergio Aguero says he wants to see Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi at Manchester City in near future. The Argentine, who received FSF player of the year award on Monday night, said he would try his best to convince Messi to join him at Manchester City.

Aguero said as quoted by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo:

“I will try to sign Leo Messi for Manchester City. It will be difficult, but it would be good that the best players are in the Premier League.”

Aguero, who has been in sparkling form this season, was a reported target of both Barcelona and Real Madrid, when he was at Atletico Madrid.

Messi last month gave an interview to Argentine newspaper Ole, where he claimed that he may not remain at Barcelona forever. Such statements sparked wide speculations on his future though Messi later reiterated that his quotes were mis-interpreted.

What Messi tried to convey is he wants to stay at Barcelona forever, but he cannot decide his own future alone, possibly hinting at the Barcelona board members to hand him a new lucrative contract.

Recently, Catalan newspaper Sport came up with suggestions that Chelsea and Manchester City are the possible clubs that can afford to buy Messi, who has a release clause of around €250m.

Messi’s good relationship with Fabregas is thought to be the main reason why he is being linked with a move to Chelsea.

Madrid based newspaper AS cited Argentine channel DirecTV that claim Messi had already spoken to Mourinho by phone, and that the Portuguese has given a green signal for the transfer.

When Jose Mourinho was asked to clarify on the matter, the Portuguese nonchalantly scotched such rumours saying such stories are completely fabricated.

He said at a news conference via ESPN: “My reaction is that your world changed so much that our world also changed so much. And I think, in this moment, it’s so easy, so easy to have non-truths circulating.

“It’s so easy that some people put news without confirming or speaks about rumours. Obviously it’s not true. Obviously it’s not true.”

Messi, who has been shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or award once again, has notched up 10 goals in the league, while has seven assists to his name as well.

Aguero may long desire to partner with arguably one of the greats of all time at Manchester City, but knowing the English club’s struggle against Financial Pair Play, it is highly unlikely such deal would take place any time soon.
