What They Said: Moyes admits Old Trafford losing fear factor, Mourinho says ‘no divers at Chelsea’

The pressure is mounting on the shoulders of Manchester United manager David Moyes. It is like a vicious circle. It was always going to be tough for any new manager at Manchester United, but it is getting tougher with each loss, especially at home.

Swansea became the latest team to register a victory at Old Trafford. It was only the second time in 29 years that United have exited the FA Cup at the third-round stage while it was also the first time in Swansea’s history, the Wales team have recorded a victory at Old Trafford. Put it simply, Old Trafford is losing its fear factor.

When asked whether the fear factor is diminishing with every game, Manchester United play at home, Moyes said, as quoted in The Times:

“Of course. We need to go back to winning ways, we need to be hard to play against and more importantly take something out of the good play we have had in games.”

Moyes, who insisted only couple of days back that Manchester United won’t be buying any new players in January, has hinted that he needs to sign few players in the winter transfer window.

He added: “There is an urgency that we would like to bring people in but are those players available in January?”

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that he doesn’t endorse cheating act like diving and boldly said that there are no divers in his team.

“I maintain there are no divers at Chelsea. I maintain it. In isolated cases, the referees attack it, the manager supports the referee, so I think we are doing well,” he said as quoted by The Mirror.

Referee Andre Mariner penalised Brazilian Ramires for a pathetic penalty box tumble at Pride Park and only four days prior to that Oscar was booked against Southampton for diving as well.

Mourinho added: “I”ve not spoken with Ramires yet, but I will, and remind him what we think. If Marriner is so close and makes that decision, it’s because he is right, perfect. But let’s do it every game, every stadium, every player, let’s do that.”
