Deal almost done, Chelsea star off to Spain, waiting for official confirmation

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku produced a superb cameo display against USA, as Belgium moved into the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Brazil.

The highly rated youngster is all set to leave Chelsea and join Atletico Madrid in the summer on a season long loan. The Blues have already agreed a deal for Diego Costa and may bring in another quality striker as well. In such a scenario, Lukaku would drop down the pecking orders at the club and hence Chelsea have decided to sell him on loan yet again.

Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2011 from Anderlecht but has only managed 10 league games so far for the Blues. He was sent on loan to West Brom, where he scored 17 league goals and last season scored 15 league goals (also on loan) for Everton.

While many had expected that he would be drafted into the senior squad this time around but it seems Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has other ideas.

According to El Confidencial, the 21-year-old will join Atletico Madrid after the World Cup gets over. The deal has been agreed and the Belgian is just waiting for an official confirmation.

Will it be a good move for Lukaku? Does he have any future at Chelsea? Share your thoughts below…

  1. I think is right, and it will be last for him to go loan after this is a blue for ever good move

  2. It’s a good deal. But dis should be de last time. Goodluck Romelu Lukaku. Forever a Blue!!!

  3. I fink chelsea is try to do the same mistake machester united did to let paul pogba out old strfd. Lukaku is young player of 21 yrs old is what a club need to keep for future, like d case of let storidge out for liverpool he boom liverpool powerhouse see if u add Tores, eto’o, and dem ba goal last season not up to Daniel storidge goal.

  4. This is a very good deal for him nd cfc but last loan nd he should come bk home to be d new king

  5. Nice deal at list kettle him stay far away from home for some time so he can learn! We Chelseafc fans are solidly behind u just that when he talk @ times i keep wondering if this is the future of our lovely club Chelseafc bcos been loyal is necessary b4 been a Legend! We love u go and return nothing will happen to u in Jesus name ……. Amen! progress is ur portion!

  6. Lukaku still has a lot to do in his play.I tink he nids more exposure and he will definetly get it @vincent caldron stadium.COME ON CHELSES!!

  7. Gd move for lukaku,bt its also tym to give our players a chance to shine in blue.let it not happen to him as it happened to sturidge , now we regrets why he was sold to Liverpool

  8. Thats a good option from the special one. But they should offload demba Ba as well.

  9. Nice one 4 my boy lukaku. Just go there and prove mourihno wrong once again cos he doesn’t value any player that was not bought by him. Cos him thinks he knows all that why he always do mistake. And finally is high time we start giving our youngsters chance to prove their worth cos it doesn’t make sense acquiring the best young player in the whole world without giving them a chance to perform instead loan all the time which is wrong. Not. Buying already made all the time. Good luck, Good luck lukaku and Good fans God bless us Amen!

  10. gud work of ur hands the special one let him learn more at atletic but please dont offload torres

  11. Its a nice deal we like it that way, but let the loan not be longer then neccessary, we still need him..goodluck!

  12. I think it’s right for Lukaku not to play on loan again. So it’s a good transaction for Lukaku.

  13. I dont kmw wat’s wrong wit mouriho,y cant him leave lukaku, instead of buy another person wit costa,i no support mouriho buh i wish lukaku well anywhere he goes.

  14. My Opinion is that chelseafc really love Lukaku and wouldnt wanna sale him for whatever price, thats why they are sending him to atheletico Not only for a champions league experience but also to experience the pressure of a top four.
