Real Madrid 1-1 Lyon
UEFA Champions League
10 March 2010

Real Madrid struggled to convert their chances as they failed to advance to the quarterfinals and lost 1-2 on aggregate to Lyon.

The home side looked like they were heading for an easy win as Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 6th minute. Unfortunately for Real Madrid that’s the only goal they would score in the entire match.

Lyon played solid defense the entire match and was able to get the crucial goal in the second half. Miralem Pjanic would score in the 75th minute to make it 1-1 and 2-1 on aggregate.

Real Madrid will now be focusing solely on La Liga as they are now knocked out of the Cope Del Rey and the UEFA Champions League. It was a disappointing performance as the final is going to be held in the Bernabeu.
