Poulsen’s agent expects Liverpool deal to be done in days

The agent of Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen is confident that his client will complete a switch to Liverpool next week.

The former Sevilla and Schalke star has been heavily linked with Liverpool recently as Roy Hodgson looks to a future without Javier Mascherano, and earlier in the week, Hodgson confirmed that he was interested in the tough-tackling Dane. Poulsen is available for sale, as he’s currently surplus to requirements at Juve, where he’s spent the last two seasons after making a €10m move from Sevilla in July 2008.

Jom Bonnesen, Poulsen’s representative, has had discussions with Liverpool about a move, and in comments to Danish media, he spoke confidently about the deal being done in the coming days.

“It won’t take more than a week before this is sorted out.”

“It might be already in the beginning of next week. Christian Poulsen is Roy’s man.

“He will be playing as defensive midfielder at Liverpool. I returned home with a good and positive impression.”
