Portsmouth draw AC Milan and full UEFA Cup draw

Written by Rob Parker

You could call it the Europa League...

The UEFA Cup draw has thrown up some mouthwatering ties for the English clubs involved. Top of the pile is Portsmouth, who have been drawn in the same group as AC Milan. Not to be outdone, Aston Villa are up against Ajax and Martin Jol’s Hamburg, while Manchester City will take on Schteeve McClaren’sh FC Twente.

Tottenham have a relatively easy draw - let’s face it, they need it at the moment - with Spartak Moscow and Udinese their biggest threats. Groups B, C and G, which have no English representation, look extremely competitive.

  1. I like Group A for the Group of Death.

  2. Group F has Villa, did you mean Group G?

They’re good competitive groups, all of them. Tough to see an outright winner, even though Milan and Sevilla should go far in this one.

I hope they show these matches in India. Imagine AC Milan playing against Pompey at Fratton Park. Isnt it amazing. Its something like the FA Cup. Please UEFA if you are reading this, please make sure these matches are beamed in all Asian households.
