Pochettino comments on Wenger, Arsenal latest Injury & transfer news

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has nothing but high praise for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

The Argentine called him a “special person” ahead of Saturday’s north London derby.

Wenger has seen 11 permanent Spurs managers during his 19-and-a-half years in England, and will take his side into his 48th game against Tottenham.

Poch believes that it is Wenger’s consistency that make the Frenchman a special manager.

“It is about the special capacity that Alex Ferguson had and now Arsene Wenger,” he said as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I don’t know if the capacities of the managers has changed or football has changed, it’s difficult to say.

“Maybe they are special people. Maybe Ferguson and Wenger are special people who are capable of keeping their job for so long. Maybe we aren’t too special.

“It’s like Diego Maradona or Lionel Messi. It’s difficult for some players to appear every season like them, no?”

Spurs are heading into the match on the back of a shock defeat at West Ham. With two teams fighting for the Premier League title, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes that it could be the ‘biggest derby’ in 25 years.

Arsenal Injury & Transfer News Latest

Wenger confirmed ahead of the match that Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech will miss the tie. In fact, Cech is expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks with a calf injury.

Cech suffered the injury during Arsenal’s 2-1 home defeat against Swansea

Ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s north London derby at Tottenham, Wenger said: “Cech will be three or four weeks with a calf injury.

“It is a serious calf injury and he had a groin alert on the first goal and he could not kick the ball properly out because of his groin and maybe compensated a little too much and provoked another muscular injury.

Arsenal could make a shock move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.

The Belgian has dropped down the pecking orders at Anfield, and he is likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

According to Spanish website Fichajes, expert in framing transfer gossips, Arsenal are the most likely destination for the 25-year-old. Ok, we got it. Thank you.
