£25m Arsenal targets drops massive hint; Wants to play Champions League Football

The Premier League Underrated XI

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could leave the south coast club after he claimed that he wants to play in the Champions League next season. The Frenchman has admitted that his days for the Saints could be numbered despite having two years in his current contract.

Should Schneiderlin leave, his next destination could be at Arsenal as the Gunners are currently the front-runners to sign the £25m rated midfielder. The London side has been keeping tabs on the 25 year old since last summer but the player stayed at Southampton as any deal failed to materialize.

The Guardian have now quoted the player saying to French radio station RMC, “Yes, I think my decision is made.”

I learned a lot last season. The goal is to stay in England. It is a championship that I like and where I have a lot of fun. If I leave Southampton, it is for a club that plays better than the Europa League. There are ongoing discussions but nothing is done. But of course the Champions League is my goal. If I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League.”

I have a two-year contract. If a club pays the right amount for me, it will be time to leave. The amount? I have no idea but I will not leave for a small price. Southampton is known to be a good seller club, the price should be high enough.”

Schneiderlin has been one of Southampton’s stand out players this season but he missed the Saints’ final-day defeat to Manchester City with a knee ligament injury. The player however claimed that he will now enjoy his holidays and start his rehabilitation to recover and have a good next season.
