Manchester United have yet to take any decision on whether they want sign on loan striker Radamel Falcao permanently from Monaco.

Falcao, who earns a reported salary of £265k-per-week, joined Manchester United from Monaco this season on a season long loan but doubts remain whether United would pay 55m Euro to sign him permanently in the summer.

The Colombian forward has cut a disappointing figure since his loan move and has scored four league goals only for the Red Devils.

According to Vadim Vasilyev, vice president of Monaco, United officials have yet to take a decision on Falcao’s future, but he claims several big clubs are still interested in signing the former Porto striker.

“I met the Manchester officials last Sunday. They have not decided if they would exercise the option,” said Vasilyev as quoted by L’Equipe

“It has not been his best season, but they will decide at the season,” he added.

Vasilyev added that Monaco are not in talks with other clubs at the moment, but are aware of interests for Falcao from other big clubs.

“The decision lies with Manchester and then we will discuss with the player to know what he wants.”

Manchester United are looking to spend big in the summer transfer window and may need to offload few players to balance the books.

Louis van Gaal has addressed the need of signing a top forward and there is every possibility that he will sign a new striker in the summer. The Dutchman is not impressed with what he saw from Falcao this season and therefore it is highly unlikely that United will pay such a huge amount of money to secure his permanent move.
