Manchester United ready to offer €5.5m per year for Miranda
According to reports in Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, Manchester United are set to trigger the release clause of Atletico Madrid defender Miranda in the coming days. The Red Devils are desperate to improve their defensive line after Nemanja Vidic’s decision to leave for Inter Milan and Rio Ferdinand’s retirement has left a huge void at the back.
Only yesterday Miranda admitted that he and his agent are negotiating offers and revealed that although he has a €30m release clause, but that can be negotiated as well.
Jorge Mendes, the well known agent, who has a great relationship with Jose Mourinho, is also the agent of Mendes, is currently negotiating a deal with two clubs, and one of them is Manchester United. The other one could be Barcelona.
According to the report, Manchester United are ready to offer €5.5m per year, almost triple the amount, Miranda earns at Atletico.
The only hitch in the deal is Atletico are asking €30m for the player. Manchester United are not keen to pay that amount but could use players as part exchange, with Nani, Javier Hernandez and Anderson could be used as a part deal.
