Man United player hates facing teammate, LVG chasing free scoring winger

Martial has been a nemesis for Premier League defenders

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling absolutely hates facing the new goalscoring sensation at Old Trafford, Anthony Martial.

The England international has claimed that Martial is the player he hates facing in training everyday, because of his pace, power and agility.

Martial has taken the Premier League by storm, since his big money move from Monaco. The French youngster has already bagged four goals, including a memorable one against arch rivals, Liverpool.

Chris Smalling said – “Playing against him in training you know the handful that he is. You can see what he does in games.

“He’s probably the one forward I’d stick at the top of the list of who I wouldn’t want to play against at the moment.

“We play 11 against 11 in training so I come up against him and other forwards. He’s quick and has that skill.

“Anthony has added that injection of unpredictability up front where he can turn players and run at them.

“But people are surprised by how strong he is. He was up against two very physical defenders against Wolfsburg in the Champions League and obviously every week in the league. But he has more than handled himself.

“He’s running into channels. Against Wolfsburg we knew they would make the pitch big with two wingers, so we knew if we slid it down the sides of their centre-backs, he has the beating of anybody.”

Manchester United looking to sign Sadio Mane from Southampton

Manchester United are interested in Sadio Mane

Elsewhere, reports in the English media say that Manchester United are keen to sign the Southampton winger, Sadio Mane.

The free-scoring winger has been a threat to all Premier League sides and is being tracked by the top clubs.

After being linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, Mane decided to stay put. However, Southampton manager, Ronaldo Koeman has admitted that the club needs to prepare for his departure.

Manchester United have struggled to get goals from out wide, due to the dip in form of Memphis Depay.

Signing Sadio Mane would mean added depth and quality from wide positions.
