£250,000 a-week superstar set for Manchester United transfer in January?

Robin Van Persie

Is Robin Van Persie on his way out of Old Trafford?

Robin Van Persie has struggled at Manchester United ever since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. The Dutchman hasn’t really been at his best for the Red Devils over the past two years and there are intense speculations over his future at Old Trafford. We had reported earlier that United are reluctant to pay Van Persie £10m in loyalty bonuses if he sees out his four-year contract at the club.

Reports late night from yesterday’ English Media outlet Telegraph claim that Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is interested to bring the 31 year old to the San Siro. Mancini had also been interested in the former Arsenal striker when he was the manager at Manchester City but failed to lure the player to the Etihad stadium in 2012.

However the reports also claims that Inter will have to wait till the summer before they can make a move for the World Cup star. United are concerned over his long term fitness and given that Radamel Falcao could be signed on a permanent deal, Van Persie could head towards the exit at Old Trafford.

But a move to Inter remains far fetched. The Nerazzurri aren’t also likely to pay the Dutchman a hefty wage packet of £250,000 a-week, one that he currently earns at United. It’s true that Van Persie has struggles this season and the slow pace of the Serie A will suit him, but there is absolutely no way Inter can afford his services.
