Manchester United: Moyes plans sensational £80m raid on midfield duo
Manchester United are preparing an audacious move to take their former player back to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils manager David Moyes was in Italy to watch Juventus in action against Cagliari on Sunday. While, the Scot claimed that he was on a holiday, we all know what the real intentions could be.
Manchester United are in need of reinforcing their midfield and are linked with three Juventus midfielders – Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio.
According to reports from The Times, Pogba, who left the English club in 2012, is refusing to sign a new contract and is believed to be open to a return to the Premier League and specifically to United.
Times claim that David Moyes will be given a transfer war-chest of more than £100 million to rebuild the team he inherited, but it is highly unlikely they would get Pogba in January, but a deal in summer for the 20-year-old is highly possible.
Daily Mail reports that United manager met with boardroom boss Beppe Marotta and discussed the possibility of signing either of the players, or both of them.
French rich club PSG are also interested in landing the youngster, but it is understood that Pogba hasn’t ruled out second spell at Old Trafford.
United are also actively looking to sell some of their fringe players from the squad. According to reports, Fiorentina have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Anderson on loan with a hope of signing him permanently next summer.
Juventus also want Manchester United winger Nani but they’re unwilling to meet the valuation of between £16m and £18m, set by the club.
