The Manchester United – Tottenham Carling Cup quarter final ended 2-0 and was mostly an unremarkable game, save two well-taken goals from Darron, both shots from outside the box and both coming in the first half.
Given the number of games he’s played, this is a great time for Gibson to push on and stake a claim for a position in the regular starting lineup for United – and in all likelihood he’ll get more chances this season in both cups and maybe in the glut of December games that are some of the easiest set of fixtures for United in recent memory.
