Louis van Gaal sanctions defender transfer

Saidy Janko

Saidy JankoManchester United have allowed their defender Saidy Janko to leave Old Trafford and join Celtic on Wednesday.

The teenager joined the Red Devils from FC Zurich in 2013 and spent most part of his time away from the Red Devils’ first team. He was part of United squad and made one senior appearance during their 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup last August.

Janko has joined Celtic on a permanent transfer and signed a new four-year contract.

“Saidy Janko is to sign for Celtic after agreeing a four-year contract with the Scottish Premier League champions,” a statement read on United’s official website.

“The Swiss right-back, who spent the end of last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers, is expected to finalise the move once routine medical results are received.”

“A former winner of the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year award, the 19-year-old joined the club from FC Zurich in 2013 and made one appearance for the first team – in the Capital One Cup defeat to Milton Keynes Dons last August. Everybody at United would like to wish Saidy the best of luck in his future career.”

Janko joins Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa, Michael Keane, Marnick Vermijl, Anderson, Wilfried Zaha, Ben Amos and Tom Cleverley as host of players, who were part of the squad in the defeat to MK Dons, to be shown the exit door by Louis van Gaal.

Van Gaal has already made his intentions clear and the players, who are not included in his plans at United are all offloaded. They could be joined by few other fringe players, who could make a move away from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
