Louis van Gaal allows star player leave Manchester United

Manchester United have confirmed their winger Luis Nani has left Old Trafford and completed a move to Fenerbahce on Monday.

The Portuguese international returned to England after completing his season-long loan spell at Sporting Lisbon. He was in fine form for Sporting last season and had three years left on his deal at United.

Nani arrived in Istanbul to complete his medical and Louis van Gaal allowed him to leave the club and join the Turkish outfit.

A statement on United’s official website read, “Manchester United winger Nani has completed a move to Fenerbahce.”

“The Portugal international spent last season with his former club Sporting Lisbon but has accepted the offer of a fresh challenge in Turkey after arriving in Istanbul over the weekend to finalise the transfer.”

The 28-year-old was received by Fenerbahce fans at the airport and he claims a move to the Sükrü Saracoğlu Stadium will not give him a chance to review his career.

“I’m very happy for being here. I think that there is a big chance to prove myself again. I’ll try to do my best to make Fenerbahce fans happy. I hope everything goes well,” Nani told Fenerbahce’s official website.

“I know Fenerbahce very well. The club’s aims have always been high and playing with [Raul] Meireles and Bruno Alves will be exciting. With their help, I’ll feel like I’m with my family. I want to be successful with my new team-mates.”

According to BBC, Nani has signed a three year deal at Fenerbahce and his move to Turkey will see United bag around £4.25m from his sale.
