We have been reporting over the past few weeks that Liverpool are looking at Italy for a goalkeeper who can bring the calm under the sticks. The trusted and reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website have now confirmed that the Reds genuinely have an interest in Genoa custodian Mattia Perin.
The Italian is regarded as a long term future prospect and has been hailed as Gianluigi Buffon’s replacement for the Azzurri. Genoa too value the player at €20m The 21 year old Perin has been in terrific form this season inspiring Genoa’s superb start to the season in the Serie A.
The report from Di Marzio claims that Bayern Munich are also interested in Perin while Liverpool are monitoring the situation closely. The youngster’s future could well be in the Premier League. TMW have also suggested that Genoa will have to do without their prized asset but the Italian side don’t want to sell at a price less than £10m.
Perin’s agent Matteo Roggi had earlier claimed, “You can never say never because if in January somebody came with an undeniably good offer, then he would leave.”
