Juan Mata stories are Nonsense says Mourinho
Mata’s future has been well speculated throughout the summer with English press claiming that Mourinho doesn’t rate the player high enough and could cash in on the player, who was arguably the best performer for the Blues last season.
Further, despite having an avalanche of attacking midfielders in the squad, the summer purchases of talented players like Andre Schurrle and Willian, put question marks over the Spaniard’s long term future at the club.
Mourinho however has said time and again that Mata is integral to his plans and such stories regarding his future have no foundation at all. He reiterated the same on Monday night and said for the umpteenth time this season, as quoted by BBC:
“He is very important to Chelsea and the stories coming out are nonsense. No chance – Juan goes nowhere.”
Chelsea are looking to add a quality striker before the transfer window closes and have targeted Manchester United’s unsettled star Wayne Rooney. It was reported that Mata could be used as a player plus cash exchange swap for the maverick striker.
Also, reports emerged few days back that Arsenal are also monitoring his situation of the Chelsea player and could make an ambitious move for the Spain international, who was one of their prime targets couple of seasons back.
As have been with the cases of so many high profile sagas this summer Chelsea probably won’t trade with other Premier League clubs for their best player. As it stands, the Blues fans can now heave a sigh a relief as Mata is not going anywhere at the moment and it has been assured by none other than the manager himself.
