Inter Milan ‘Cruzing’ in the Serie A
Win, win, win… and win again. Inter’s march in Serie A seems to be stuck in high gear, as the Nerazzurri obtained yet another 3 points in their quest for a Scudetto renewal. To pay the price this time were Edy Reja’s Napoli, who despite coming back late into the 2nd half with a Roberto Sosa goal, could not overcome the two early tallies by fellow Argentine Julio Ricardo Cruz.

Earlier in the day, Atalanta couldn’t do better than a 0-0 goalless draw against visitors Udinese, who were playing without their in-form striker Antonio Di Natale. Riccardo Zampagna had the perfect opportunity to put the home team in the lead, but blasted his 2nd half penalty shot onto the crossbar.

Inter 2-1 Napoli
It was another victory for the Nerazzurri, and another double for an Inter player: following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s steps, Argentine striker Julio Cruz provided the winning goals for Roberto Mancini’s team today, and continued the Nerazzurri’s 42-match scoring streak. For 80 minutes this fixture was essentially a one-team affair, and when Sosa brought back some hope for Napoli in the 80′ minute mark, it was already too late.

they played really well again, WOOHOO! They should have scored at least 3 more goals though.
nice analysis Marco, you and the La Liga guy Hugo provide great insight into my two favorite leagues.
Agreed Nerazzurri. Cruz could have had a hat-trick within a 20-minute period, if only he hadn’t put that Figo deep pass wide.
Thanks yu1mixer. Glad to see you enjoy reading my reports as much as I enjoy writing them.
Inter might cruze in the Serie A but they always struggle in the Champions League…
I think this year will be different Tuga. And I forgot to say, thanks Marco.
Don’t get me wrong Nerazzurri, I like Inter and they’ve got a good squad. But I think pressure always gets to them (on the international stage that is), look at what happened last year.

What they do wrong is they’re being too soft in those matches, not taking control of the game, not taking chances. They know they can’t do that this year so watch out for them, should be a good Champions League
Tuga: That is actually a very pertinent remark, because the biggest problem with Inter has always been that they eventually tend to choke on their superstar roster, sooner or later. Over the past 10 years they have constantly had one of the best teams in Serie A, but in the second part of the season team confidence is what always got in their way of winning trophies.
However, the past year without Juve and Milan was just what Inter needed for the Nerazzurri to believe in themselves again, to believe they are capable of being a champions team. Will they eventually bring an European trophy home as well? I don’t know, only time will tell, but there’s no doubt that Inter are serious contenders, this year more than ever.
Nerazzurri: You’re welcome.
