Hoffenheim star Ibisevic drawing interest from Serie A leaders Inter

The price that a smaller club pays for success is having some of their best players linked with the best clubs, and that’s the case for Bundesliga surprise outfit Hoffenheim.

The newly-promoted side have risen to the top of the Bundesliga table at the halfway point of the season, and a big reason why has been Bosnian striker Vedad Ibisevic, whose 18 goals in 17 matches has him top of the league’s scoring charts, six goals ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrick Helmes.

As a result, the 24-year-old is being linked with Inter, who are comfortably atop the Serie A standings but are looking to add another goal machine besides Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, a January move would seem to be out of the question, with Hoffenheim flying high and looking to maintain their title challenge throughout the season. Besides, they’re more than financially secure enough to not need to sell anyone to help add reinforcements in January, especially at the expense of parting with their biggest weapon.

Keeping up his form over the second half of the season won’t be easy for Ibisevic, but if he does, he’ll have no shortage of suitors from around Europe in the summer, and Hoffenheim will likely be able to name their price.
