Fabregas’ comments are proof that Wenger needs to gag Arsenal players

Arsenal skipper and star Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his desire to play in La Liga someday, leading to more speculation on his future.

Fabregas has been quoted by Radio Marca as saying that he would like to play in his native country sometime in his career. Fabregas currently has still six years left on his long term contract that he signed in 2006.

But the 21-year Spanish international midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in the past several weeks. He has been linked mostly with Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Italian powerhouse AC Milan as Arsenal persistently fail to show any promise to win silverware.

Fabregas told Radio Marca:

“What happens is that nobody in football has guaranteed place anywhere. Today everything is so changeable, so complicated that you never know, but the truth is that I’m very happy, very motivated and being captain is an extra incentive.

“Everybody knows that one day I would return to Spanish football. It’s an experience I want to live. I want to play in Spain as a professional.”

Wasn’t Fabregas quoted as saying a few days ago that he admires Milan as they have a “winning mentality”? To be fair he also said that the reason he signed a long-term contract with Arsenal is because he wasn’t interested in leaving the Gunners right now, but with the state the club is in on and off the pitch surely Fabregas could have done with NOT talking about his future plans?

Other teams’ players don’t go around talking about their teammates and their ‘future plans’ nearly as much as Arsenal’s finest – and it’s never good for the club.

Who should lead the Chelsea frontline - Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka?
Paranoid Paul Ince has lost the plot
