Chelsea agreed a loan deal for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao yesterday. The Barclays Premier League Champions have agreed to pay Monaco a £5m loan fee for the former Manchester United striker, who according to The Times, has accepted a pay cut of more than 25 per cent on his previous wages of £265k-a-week to move to Stamford Bridge.

Falcao may not be the only new arrival at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea will continue to work on revamping their forward line. The Blues are still interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann who has a £43m buy-out clause in his contract. Chelsea will activate his release clause, if they can sell Loic Remy for a good value.

Griezmann mainly operates from the wings, but he enjoyed a prolific first season at Atletico, where he scored 22 gaols in 37 matches in La Liga.

The Times claim Remy has become unsettled following Falcao’s imminent arrival, and would likely to drop down the pecking order to become Chelsea’s third choice striker.

Remy will seek talks with Mourinho about his future when he returns from pre-season training next month. Chelsea wish to keep Remy but Mourinho will sanction his departure if the player wishes to leave.

Chelsea meanwhile are adamant that Brazilian attacking midfielder Oscar will not be sold, despite strong interest from Juventus, who are looking to put in a bid of 25m
