Arsenal attacker Olivier Giroud could leave the club this summer, with his wife reportedly willing the striker to return to France in order to save their struggling marriage.

The 27-year-old was revealed to have cheated on his wife, Jennifer, with model Celia Kay last month, and while the couple have reportedly begun to reconcile, Giroud has been told the only way they can get past his infidelity together is to move back to the continent.

A source told the Sun (relayed by the Metro): ‘[Jennifer] has agreed to take him back but only on the condition they leave London and England.

‘He [Giroud] is desperate to save the marriage because he knows how stupid he’s been – so he is going along with what she wants.’

Arsene Wenger is said to be scouring the globe for attacking reinforcement, with Giroud the only favoured striker on the books; but following this new revelation, Arsenal may have an entire clear-out on their hands, with Nicklas Bendtner and Lukas Podolski also said to be heading for the exit.

  1. Happy for Giroud to go, as he very one dimensional in his play.

  2. No we can’t unless wenger will go 4 reinforcement on a new striker.diego costa, draxler, lewandoski

  3. arsenal would never regret letting this idiot go who has never made any impression in epl if he was a proven striker we wod’nt have been where we are to day i hope we sign a very good striker so that we can illiiminate this supporting opposion deffenders nuetral deffenders so call giroud

  4. He should leave… He is not sharp and prolific enough to lead he ARSENAL striking force!

  5. It does not matter if Giroud leaves. We need pace up front as well as skill.

  6. i will even love that

  7. We need giroud best hold up player I have seen at arsenal

  8. Well, well, it’s a shame but Arsenal isn’t a one man club! Wenger knows the type of strikers he plans to have at the club and with the right kind of player identified, there will be no problems at all. Although if Giroud had stayed, he would become a prolific goal scorer come next season!!

  9. its good if giroud has to leave the club so as the wenger can hire an experince striker

  10. Let him go and wenger to retain bendtner as the first choice striker
