Arsenal set to bid again for €45m transfer target in the coming week

After having a €25m bid rejected by Sporting, Arsenal are set to pursue their interest in William Carvalho but any such bid by the Gunners will be dependent on whether Arsene Wenger’s side beat Turkish opposition Besiktas for  a Champions League place. The second leg is on a knife’s edge and the encounter scheduled on Wednesday resumes after the first leg in Turkey ended in a goalless stalemate.

The report has been cited by TMW while Portuguese media outlet A Bola also reported the latest developments. However the credibility of the original source is yet to be verified.

We had also earlier reported that Sporting were willing to do business for €30m-35m and the Portuguese outfit are unwilling to lower their asking price for the 22 year old sensation. Sporting definitely want the player to stay and hence aren’t willing to let their prized asset go on a cheap. Arsenal’s fierce rivals Chelsea are also thought to be interested in Carvalho but the Jose Mourinho’s side hasn’t made any concrete offers for the midfielder.

€40m Manchester United target 'unsure' about future, transfer likely?
Manchester United closing in on Dutch duo

  1. Stingy Wenger will never buy such a good player for Arsenal . Atleast we can all see what Diego coaster is doing for Chelsea if we we get DM and good striker then the Fans can talk of winning trophy at end of the season. Up Gunners

  2. we were all excited when we signed players early on in the window but it looks like we are back to the usual wondering if we will sign players for the problem positions ie defensive mid-fielder and a world class striker it now looks unlikely as it takes us longer to complete transfers than our rivals. I don’t understand why it takes so long if as stated on many occasions that these players have been long term targets why de we need to have them watched again so near the window closing there wont be enough time to have all the paperwork completed on time.

  3. Wenger will not buy good striker because of his french man.also he will not buy good defensive mid-fielder.but let us wait and see what will happen at the end.

  4. This report is another paper talk. How is it that the article before this one tell of Khedira being in London for medical and discussing personal terms? Is Wenger buying them both? What a joke.
