Are Zenit ready to pay for Tottenham flop?
Roman Pavlyuchenko’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Zenit St Petersburg is in serious danger of stalling, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
The striker’s agent has apparently denied any knowledge of the reported £10.2 million bid for the player from the Russian club, and it is understood that Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti is in dispute with the club’s board over whether to push the move through or not.
Given Pavlyuchenko’s £15m price tag, it is likely that only his former club Spartak Moscow would be able to afford him.
However, they would apparently like to spread the fee in instalments over a number of years, something unlikely to find favour at White Hart Lane.
Lokomotiv Moscow are also reportedly interested in the 28-year-old, but there are doubts as to whether they have the necessary funds to do a deal.
