This page will take you through the process step by step and explain how to submit articles and become a Soccerlens writer.
Step 1: Create a Soccerlens account.
Go to the Soccerlens signup page and enter a userame for yourself. The username must be at least 4 characters long and can contain only letters and numbers. Your username is not your author name, so don’t worry about how it will appear on the screen.
Enter a valid email address. Leave the two password fields blank. Click “Next”.
Check your email. You will have received an email from Soccerlens containing a password. Click the link in your email and login to Soccerlens to activate your account.
At this point you have an account, but no writing or publishing privileges.
Step 2: Send an application via email.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org containing:
a) Your name
b) Your username (from Step1 )
c) Your application, which should be a proposal, pitch or ideas for content you would write for Soccerlens, as well as either writing samples or links to writing samples.
You should hear back from Soccerlens within 24 working hours, telling you whether or not your application has been accepted.
Step 3: Submitting content for review.
Once accepted, you’ll have access as a Soccerlens contributor. This means you’ll be able to write posts in WordPress. Once you’ve written your article and given it a headline, then you need to select “pending review” and click “Save as Pending”, from the Publish options.
From here, a Soccerlens editor will review your article. The article will either be published, or you’ll be emailed with suggestions for improvements.
Over time, writers with good editing and writing skills who submit regular and consistently high quality content will get a regular column on the site, and will be able to publish their own articles directly.
