Would you like to write for Soccerlens?

We are always looking for talented new writers. If you have the knowledge, experience and stories to tell about football and would like to share your views as a football fan please follow the steps outlined below.

In return for your work you receive exposure to our 20,000+ daily readers, will improve your personal brand as a football writer and participate in many projects run by Soccerlens.

You will also have the opportunity to place advertisements at Soccerlens on your individual article pages (in the form of end-of-article bylines and in-article links back to your own articles and author archives. You are welcome to use this space to promote your own websites and articles.

Soccerlens is an ‘open’ blog – as long your writing meets certain quality standards, you are free to write about what you want, whether it’s serious analysis, passionate rants or satire.

If you need direction, we’re always looking for columnists in the following areas:

  • League specific: English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, SPL, Eredivisie, MLS, etc
  • Club specific: Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Tottenham, Barcelona, Newcastle, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, etc
  • International football
  • Women’s football

To start writing on Soccerlens:

#1: Register on the Soccerlens forum and send in the username that you created on the forum along with your proposal / ideas / writing samples. Make sure you specifically mention your username in your note. If we like your article we’ll upgrade your account to allow you to submit articles directly on the blog – doing this step right saves both you and our editors tons of time.

#2: You’ll get an email within 24 hours telling you if your pitch is accepted. If accepted, you’ll be able to start submitting articles for review right away (these will be reviewed and if accepted, edited and published by our editors). If it’s not accepted, you’re more than welcome to post your articles in the Soccerlens Forum – many of our members use it as testing grounds to hone their writing skills.

#3: While it’s not absolutely necessary, reading the Writers’ Guidelines will answer many frequently asked questions about writing on Soccerlens and help you write / format your articles much better. More than just writing on Soccerlens, it’s a handy guide for writing on your own blog / on other sites as well.
