South Africa is ready and will successfully hold the FIFA WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT. The negative ideas are always there to draw down the bright picture of us country. I as a South African young star fully confident that the play will starts and ends smoothly without any individual being hurt. Speaking of political and financial issues, they have nothing much to do with this fair game. Moreover, crime is all over the world and is being promoted by what we called HOLLYWOOD MOVIES, but no body is so concerned about that.

MASIYE(lets go for it) SOUTH AFRICA, it is here

Stereotypes are unfounded. Saying South Africa is crawling with crime and rape is similar to saying all blondes are stupid.

It will not be moved. Even though SA has so many problems, Blatter has put his neck on the line for SA and if it fails then he fails.

As for some of the comments above...Nates - I too am a South african and the necklacing was not only done in the apartheid era! It was done the other day. Dont you remember the horrible picture of the Xenophobic attacks a few months back. Read The Times to check it out.

to the others - When SA puts on a great tournament you will all eat your words.

Hopefully for me though i wont be eating my words when they have the tournament taken away.

Lets end on a cheezy note - "lets hope that soccer is the winner at the end of the day"

No doubt we have our problems with crime, but we are not hooligans or serial killers. Most of the murders that takes place, 85% of the victims know their killers by name.

On the stadiums they are building by Murray and Roberts, and other Internationally Certified Contractors Local and International contractors. Our infrastructure was recently rated as DD+, and the USA as DD-, and the Government is purring Billions into it.

So guys come on, do your research properly and if you come down you'll see a country with every thing beautiful beaches and the greatest wildlife, while staying a world-class hotels. And the Necklacing was done in the Apartheid era.

For a little bit, I was seriously considering saving the money over the next couple of years to make a trip to SA...now I think being in front of my TV to watch it will be the safest place to watch it.

I kid...I think I'm more worried about the stadiums and the football-related issues than the threat of getting mugged or beaten up. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it ends up getting moved, but if FIFA is going to do it, they better get a move on before too long.

After '12 we'll hopefully see an end to awarding major tournaments as political gestures and back to favoring the best bids.

If one removes all the self-apologetic quips, the article is a most convincing argument to move the soccer event to another country.

The USA should get it if it has to be moved. We have the infastructure, and the stadiums on hand. It would be a huge success.
