An extremely well written and factual article.

However, irrespective of the financial aspect and the atmosphere, as a commited Manchester United man since i was first taken in 1958, could I/would I want to go and watch any other club because it is cheaper to get in and the beer is peanuts, oh and by the way there was no mention from the writer the actual costs of the transportation-still living near Dover will cut down the costs from Manchester for sure.

The writer did not mention whom he has supported, perhaps that may allude to one of the many Southern teams that are also rans in the capital-I would wager this guy is not Arsenal or Chelsea.

Football as we know is tribal, always has been and always will be-but to travel to watch a match abroad when no allegiance is there other than from a monetry and atmospheric standpoint then this shows a lack of committment to youur club for sure despite the eloquence in the way the article is written.

Money be be the players God but as a supporter you do what you can to support your club/team, and if finances are tight there is always the pub with a live feed from Albania or wherever else the Premier League is bounced back from.

Or have I missed the point?

Just a little note on Daniel Chung's statement that Hoffenheim are anti-Chelsea: Hoffenheim is based on the billions of SAP-founder Dietmar Hopp, one of the richest men in Germany. In their first (and only!) season in League Two, they bought two brazilians for a total amount of 20 million Euros... The record fee until then being 0,500.000.

In my opinion Hoffenheim is the NEW (Abramovich-)Chelsea.

Hi, yeah the german Bundesliga is great!!! Atmosphere is brilliant, prices are very good, everything can happen in the Bundesliga and the style is very open. Every team is always trying to score...as you can see at the results of last weekend:
Wolfsburg:Schalke 4:3
Bochum:Bayern 0:3
Hertha:Leverkusen 1:0
Hannover:Dortmund 4:4
Kalsruhe:Bielefeld 0:1
Köln:Gladbach 2:4
Frankfurt:Hoffenheim1:1
Bremen:Stuttgart 4:0
Hamburg:Cottbus 2:0

you see to score 4 goals is quite common...

Just a nice league!

Lee has played in two of the three games I have seen this season, he was suspended when I went against Hoffenheim. Has played well when I saw him and you get the obilgatory chant of 'LEEEEEE' from the whole crowd whenever he has the ball. I think he is excellent signing for the club both defensively and offensively strong, have been disappointed to see him struggle to get back in the side since his sending off. BVB do seem to have some decent full backs, shame the same can not be said of the attackers!!

Great article.
Add to the fact that this year's title race isn't contested by the usual suspects but a total rank outsider (Hoffenheim) as well as a rejuvenated Hertha Berlin. For what it lacks in celebrity and brand name recognition, there seems to be a real football spirit in the Bundesliga. I'm still pulling for Hoffenheim as they represent everything anti-Chelsea (the principle that money alone doesn't buy titles).

BTW to the author: do you get to see Lee Young-Pyo play at Dortmund? Just curious how he's faring over there.

theyre financially prudent, and, the non-attraction of alot of foreign players due to "low" wages ensures a local core of players.
