Why are people jealous of David Beckham?
There are a lot of football fans who seem to resent David Beckham.
A lot of self-proclaimed football purists and journalists hold the same feelings towards Becks.
You know what the funny thing is? Not one of them resents him as a person or as a footballer - they are all pissed off at him because of the press coverage he gets.
Victoria Beckham is not a great musician (calling her a ‘musician’ is almost blasphemy). What she DOES have figured out is how to maintain her public image and profile.
David Beckham is NOT the best footballer in the world. He may be one of those who trains the hardest, but he’s no where near the best in terms of abilities and skills.
And yet he too has mastered the art ‘being there when it counts’. Beckham has, pound for pound, contributed as much to Real Madrid’s winning run in the second half of the season as any other Madrid player (less than RVN though).
So why does everyone hate them? It’s comical at times - people say that the hype he’s getting in America is not deserved, that the money he’s earning is not deserved, that the US media are fuckin’ idiots (guilty by association now?) or that he’s just crap at footy.
So all this resentment because he’s a bad footballer? Or because he’s paid too much money?
Becks and Posh are the couple who have, in 10 years, achieved more than their wildest dreams. They have bought their way into fame and Hollywood, on the back of Beckham’s amazing marketability.
Today’s million dollar question is - why are you guys jealous?

Its that cuntface wife of his and her antics. Plus i think its his good friend tom cruise. People seem to hate these two characters and he’s always with them. Plus he moved to USA’s MLS. Another reason, he feel out of favour with the great SAF, so the man u boys hate him too(this is just an assumption)………….
Who is jealous? There are hundreds of millionaire footballers to be jealous of. I am jealous of Paul Konchesky for scoring for West Ham in a Cup Final.
I just dislike him… I dislike Beckham because of the fact that he represents all that is wrong in the world in relation to ‘celebrity’. Him and his wife selling their wedding photos, the “most important day of their lives” for vast sums of money. Why do they need it? What is their goal? To be even more famous… why? I think just “to be more famous” is their goal… this feeds into how society is going with every little kid obsessed with money and fame. They bear massive responsibility for this along given that they are the number 1 example of the pursuit of fame and fortune.
And Beckham’s Academy thing in Greenwich that he wanted to use to “give something back”… the one that wanted to charge the kids who use the youth centre I run £5 per head for one session… ####er. The amount of money he has he could pay for it 100% and GIVE money to the kids who come.
As a footballer I admire him and I am guessing that with his wife he wouldn’t have turned into such a money grabbing, fame obsessed ####.

I think it’s very simple.
Beckham has been, for half a decade now, the most famous footballer on the planet. He has never been, at any moment, the best footballer on the planet. Deep down, many people feel this is unfair; the most famous footballer should be exactly that because of his ability, and not because of his looks/wife/celebrity status etc. But this hasn’t been the case for some time. And it makes people upset.
But Beckham is an excellent footballer.

I restrained the urge to call out a lot of people who have blogged their jealously in a myriad of ways…but hopefully they know who they are
First, yes his wife is cuntfaced. She is anything but beautiful and melodious.
Second Mr. Beckham only performs when the marketability factor is at the peak i.e., he can get the maximum dough out of it. In fact he is so predictable that I can place a bet every time he plays as to if he would score n every time I would win.

LoL. Any rich person who sells their wedding pictures to the papers for personal gain are poor examples to our society. I quite agree. They are though, “the number 1 example of the pursuit of fame and fortune”. That is actually what I said. Try to read what other people post and then you can disagree with the content rather than reading what you want to read.
“Good father”? I agree there are far worse. But appearing half naked with your Mrs for a publicity shot to announce your new arrival to the USA - that’s a classy thing to do. Lucky the kids are too young to recognise the embaressment that is the Beckham family.

Freddie Kanoute spending 50% of his time when in London doing unofficial youth work when he wasn’t playing football is an example of how I would like my kids to aspire to be. And he never got any publicity for it because he never sought any.

True - Beckham is not the greatest footballer in the world. But he is a very good player. All-round, he’s not fantastic, but his passion, passing ability and work rate are second to none. I’d have him any any of my teams any day…
He has almost single handed got us to major international competitions n the past, people seem to forget that. That free-kick against Greece? If he hadn’t scored that, we wouldn’t have qualified…
To be honest though, marketability is a major part of it. It is in every celebrity market. Look at actors - Keanu Reeves, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly, all far from being the best actors in the world, but they’re pretty and marketable. There films will sell because people just want to see their faces…

forgotten he was THE star of Real Madrid in the last months and he was a very important person for winning the championship there + he has a fenomenal pass, you have to admit that!
Why is David Beckham on every back page every time he says something? Because he is popular. How did he become popular? By playing well and doing something extremly stupid in 1998. His popularity has nothing to do with his wife (the only reason she is still popular is because of Beckham), nor should we judge a man based on his private life. lets imagine that we only know beckham from the football pitch. Nothing else, not his wife, money, car, club, salary. NOTHING. Just see him as you would if the first time you saw him he played like he did against Croatia at Euro 2004. What do you say about him now? ‘What a good footballer he is’? ‘I wish my club bought him’? It has to be something along those lines.
People look for excueses to hate him, and the media is only too happy to create those excusses. The fact is that he is one of the best right midfielders of his generation, if not the best, and that you can see that he works hard every time he has a football.
What is a great footballer? someone who loves the game and plays well all the time. someone who gives his all for his club and country
and one more thing about him: remeber when he was axed by MacIdiot he said that he will do his best to get back in the team rather than just bad-mouth mclaren and quit from international football? remeber when Capello said he would never play for Real Madrid again and he came to every match and trained hard untill he was recalled.
Beckahm has been my idol since I was seven and I still see him as a role model for any football player on the planet. so please dnt thrash him based on his fucked up wife or the fact that he earns more in a month than most of us will in our whole careers. Respect the man on his achievements and do not be jealous of him.
The radio started making me really angry today when ESPN was out right bashing soccer, and David Beckham. It seems that the jock head radio hosts on ESPN really have it out for Beckham, and soccer. They basically had a call fest where people could call in to talk about how lame soccer is and how Beckham is only coming here for the money.

“love” is something you feel for your kids, or your family or your closest friends. If, like many people, you are honestly saying that you “love” Beckham in that way then you are, quite literally, delusional or have a big gap in your life. Having said that, this is true of thousands of people around the world who now see happiness in following the rich and famous instead of through their own lives.
You can ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ someone you’ve never met - that’s different to “loving” someone. Celebrity-worship is nothing to do with ‘football’.
As for “humble”: “not proud, having a low opinion of oneself, submissive, unimportant” [Penguin English Dictionary]. Yes, that defo applies to his attention-seeking antics doesn’t it? I agree that he can sometimes speak in a humble manner but his actions totally contradict his words. If I wore a dress and complained about the pains of childbirth it wouldn’t mean I was ACTUALLY a woman - just that I can act like one. Just because you sometimes talk in a humble manner doesn’t mean that you are.

People! quit being jealous. The moment becks started to peak with the beautiful free kicks and all, the english celebrated him to the high heavens and made the next best thing in football. with his good looks and family man image, he is a commercial success. same they have been trying to do with rooney and every other english player but it hasnt worked. Liverpool fan, it was obvious SAF didnt want him in the club so he does what anybody would have done in my opinion.
