Who Should Newcastle Buy and Sell this Summer?
During this article I will be asking who should Alardyce trying to get rid of at the earliest oppurtunity and what positions need filling and who are the players to fill them.
Newcastle Sales
Firstly I am going to say who I personally feel should be shown the revolving door at St. James Park.
I am Irish and like to see fellow irish men playing at the top level which benefits the national team BUT having said that, Stephen Carr should be sent away on loan or if Newcastle can miraculously find a club clueless enough to slash any amount of cash on him I thing Sam should get rid of him as he can single handedly destroy a defence.
Next up is Emre. Dont get me wrong i think he is a great player but ever since the whole racist alligations surrounding him (which where completely nonsense) he doesnt really seem to be in for the fight. He was notacibly shook by the allegations and I think a move away from England is the best thing for him.
Another one is Celestine Babayaro who in my opinion is completely and utterly useless. His preformances speak for themselves and I have nothing else to say on the matter.
Newcastle Buys
Next up on the agenda is the positions i think need strenghtening and the players I think should fill them.
LEFT BACK : Nicky Shorey. Will cost about 7-8million but in my opinion is worth every penny. We all know at this stage that any player that has a full England cap adds arround 2-3million to a players value but in Nickys case still makes a bargain.
RIGHT BACK: Glen Johnson. Will cost arround 5million but has premiership and champions league experience and is still only aged 22. He is the perfect player to end Newcastles woes at right back.
CENTRE MIDFIELD: Deco. One of the most reconigised midfielders in the world and is currently playing in La Liga with Barcelona. Newcastle have reportably made contact with Barca about acquiring his services and have been met with a positive responce.
We will have to wait and see what happens between now and the end of the transfer window.

I agree that we should shift the two full backs, Carr and Babayaro are awful. I doubt either of them would get a game for any other premiership club. They almost got away with being so bad as they were in the shadow of serial blooperists Bramble and Boumsong but now they are gone, the frailties have become far more apparent. Nicky Shorey would fit the bill nicely as a replacement for Babayaro, i also think Leighton Baines would be a great signing, and with Sunderland seemingly having a chance of signing him i dont fully understand why Big Sam hasnt come in for him. Surely we are a far more appealing proposition than those relegation certs. I always thought Wes Brown would have been a good signing for us, strong consistent defender with plenty of experience.

Its a nice plan but to be honest with you i dont see it happening. Shorey was one of readings best players last season and after the loss of Sidwell i dont see him leaving this season. Leighton Bains would be a better bet for me. Glen Johnson is a doubt. Right back was Chelsea’s weakest defensive position last season and after their defensive short comings last year i dont see Mourinho letting Johnson leave. And Deco? well its just wishful thinking isnt it ? I know big sam has made some unbelievable buys like Okocha Djorkaeff Hierro and Campo but Deco is still realtively young and after winning all trophies with Barca and Porto i dont see him moving becoming a Toon anytime soon. But i do hope big sam proves me wrong.
what are you talking about johnson and shorey! both are not quality players and would not improve what we already have, baines or silvestre at left back, even nzogbia would be far better. deco would be good as a replacement for want a away waste of space dyer
Totally agree with all apart from Shorey - we should push for Baines or Royston Drenthe. To replace Dyer we should be looking at Wesley Sneijder as he is a much better and younger player. And Glen Johnson for RB is an excellent shout, perhaps we could get Gilbert from Arsenal in addition for cover.
I think we should also bring in Curtis Davies aswell as a World Class, experienced centre back - Jorge Andrade is an ideal candidate at 29 years old, or Sol Campbell would bring some much needed leadership and experience to the backline.
Erm- DECO to even spend time pondering a move to Newcastle… You toonies gone gaga?? “met with a positive response” he says about Newcastle United enquiring over Deco?? Huh??? And you forget to mention Charles N’Zogbia in the list of people that should leave Newcastle United- for the sake of his career, smashing young talent that he is.
Only things you guys have going for you are Nicky Butt, Shay Given, Steven Taylor and Big Sam himself, can’t even mention Michael Owen, cos he aint going for you boys, he’s going someplace else once his match fitness/sharpness is back. Pah.
Deco?
be realistic. deco will definitely wont be going to a team that is even struggling to find a UEFA cup spot. next season, maybe they should be able to claim a UEFA cup spot. by then, maybe, just maybe they can start thinking of luring deco to st james park. for now, why not big sam turn to riquelme? people are saying south american are always a flop at epl after witnessing juan veron n several others failed to live up to the epl games. but tts not the case for gaby heinze, gilberto and etc. riquelme might be untested. but in my opinion, big sam should turn to this guy and get him out of argentina league or villareal to join the most demanding and popular league in the world as well as test himself in epl. maybe he is able to save NUFC…?
I think that instead of getting Nicky Shorey at left back NUFC should get Leighton Baines. Cracking defender and even scored one or two cracking goals.(think tottenham) Fully agree with you about who to sell. Santiago, if Deco is too high profile a name, why would you go for Riquelme. Riquelme is loving it at Boca and i don’t think he’d go “yippee, yippee i’m gonna go play for NUFC. Even though they’re not in Europe it’ll be fun!”
Hmmm i think if newcastle want to return to top flight football I suggest the following THREE!!! tranfers
Porto Fc: Quaresma
Arsenal: Fabregas (although i dont think u cud get him)
Juan: Bayer leverkusen
3 Great signings all affordable
Santiago riquelme is also an ambitious player althoug dosent play for the greatest sqaud he doesent want to wreck his style by moving to england
Liverpool_Fan: fyi Juan has moved to roma this summer, so i doubt he’ll move just 3 weeks after his transfer.
and secondly, i think quaresma will suit liverpool or spurs way better than newcastle.

i think we shud sign either leighten baines or nicky shorey ( nicky shorey the better player). we have almost signed villareal left back bla bla (cant remember his name but he is not very highly rated although he did play for valencia! i belive if we could buy deco it would be an amazing signing but… i dont think deco would even consider a move to us as we are not in europe, however… we will be in champions league this year!! with players like smith, owen, martins, viduka, cacapa, barton, rozenhal, geremei, dyer(who`s move to west ham has collapsed) and many more great players - shay given, milner, duff, solano! up the toon!!

i think newcastle should start looking to buy good,young players from these leagues,Italy,argentina,brazil,england, and Germany. they (newcastle) should forget about trying to sign players from scotland,spain,because players from them leagues are not reliable,it’s just like taking a gamble, look how boumsong and luque turned out,to players like obafemi martins and belozoglu emre both from italy!.
H.martin kevin kuranyi would be a good signing, you have the right idea but compare everything from kevin kuranyi to mario gomez! gomez scores more goals,solid as nails,and younng!give him 2-3 years and i would bet he scores more goals than drogba and be just as good with his head than john hartson, german players have proved over the years they can handle the english league.
