Ahmed, that's an interesting question. When you consider Stockport, Exeter, and AFC Wimbledon all got promoted last season and are fan-owned, it certainly shows that fan/community ownership can work, at least at lower levels. Brentford, another Trust-owned club, is doing pretty well this season.

I can see a few more Trusts taking control of their clubs, but the difficulty is getting in that door. Exeter and Stockport literally had to be at death's door before the Trust were handed control as a last resort. Look at Weymouth - their Trust was offered control but with so many strings attached, they had to refuse. There's quite a few chairmen who aren't fans of Trusts.

I'm not sure if it could work in the Premier League though, although it would be interesting to see a club try.

Good point. If these clubs are vital to the community then why doesn't the community help them out? That's a measure of how vital they are.

Overall, the point I would make, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, is: its entertainment, its business...and like any other, manage it to thrive or survive. Otherwise you may disappear. It's a brutal world but that's the reality.

The FA is already in debt, the Premier League are as well, tbh, the Football League has its own problems.

Gary, what do you think about fans helping non-league clubs? Not MyFC style, which brings in glory-hunters, but genuine fans / local communities?
