West Ham takeover & transfer speculation
West Ham’s Tevez and Mascherano are under more speculation, this time for being chased by Brazilian club Flamengo.
The Guardian article says little except that the deal is unlikely, so I’ll pass this off as idle speculation. Flamengo reps are in London and they are meeting with Joorabchian, but that’s to discuss future investment - what, you didn’t get the memo? You want your players to sell their souls too? Well come on right in then…
What IS news, is that the West Ham takeover should go through by the end of the month, and it will be Magnusson’s bid that looks most likely to succeed.
West Ham could actually end up keeping Tevez and Mascherano beyond January, plus have money to bring in more players in January (thanks to Magnusson’s takeover of West Ham) and to top it all off they will have Dean Ashton back from injury as well.
Another top-10 finish? They don’t have the defensive strength to match the other top-10 teams, but if they can get things settled, West Ham do have a decent shot at … the 10th spot, maybe.
Pardew is set to stay at West Ham too - good news for the West Ham faithful, but maybe not so good for Wenger’s blood pressure?
What do you think? Who will West Ham buy in January, and will Tevez and Mascherano stay?
- West Ham bought by Eggert Magnusson (yes, it’s done)
- Can West Ham qualify for Europe?
- West Ham will be a bad move for Reading’s Shorey
- West Ham successor already decided by Magnusson
- Liverpool takeover leaves Arsenal poor, raises questions

In January we have to go for Wright-Phillips. He would not only provide us with a pacy right-winger but also could contribute more goals to a West Ham midfield which has only scored 1 goal so far this season
