Despite not even being a Villa fan, i can certainly still tell and appreciate that Aston Villa is proving to be a good team and have quality in abundance, especially in the English players I definitely agree that Barry should be an England regular, as he offers much, much more to England than the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, Hargreaves etc. Young, Agbonlahor and possibly Reo-Coker should be given their chance by Capello, and I believe that Young and Agbonlahor will be the foundations for England’s future.

Barry’s coolness from the penalty spot could well prove useful, although none of the four goals he has scored this season have come from penalties.

I have been impressed with many of Aston Villa’s young players during the youth Euro Championships last summer. Engalnd sunk in the semis to Holland, but Carson, Cahill, Young, Reo Cocker and Agbonlahor were all superb. I remember thinking at the time that if the senior England team played against the youth team, Psycho would triumph. I stand by that to this day.

You forgot to mention unjuries, or the lack of them, as in these ‘young ones’ have very few injuries between them. While injuries are quite unpredictable and sad, the ‘Villa lot(Carson, Gabby, Young and my personal favourite Barry) have played so many games and Villa is still one of the fastest teams in Europe. Says a lot about their fitness…………
