Eduardo Bicycle Kick Goal

A look at the goals from some of the top games in the Premier League on Saturday - we’ve picked Manchester City v Arsenal, Tottenham v Manchester United, Liverpool v Sunderland and Portsmouth v Chelsea.

Manchester City 1 - Arsenal 3

An entertaining match that saw Manchester City lose their home record and Arsenal go 2 points clear at the top of the table. Eduardo’s goal (Arsenal’s second) was top of the bunch and he’s worth every penny Arsenal have paid for him.

Manchester City 1-3 Arsenal

Tottenham 1 - Manchester United 1

Tottenham’s new-look defense proved to be too strong for the defending champions and the self-belief inspired by Juande Ramos lit up White Hart Lane as Manchester United were made to work (very, very, very) hard for their single point. Manchester United could have conceded 3 goals by the time Tevez got the equaliser (they could have scored 3-4 themselves, mind you), and the late goal would have given Manchester United some confidence that they can stay unbeaten for the rest of the season, or at least outside of Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United

Liverpool 3 - Sunderland 0

Liverpool’s stock has fallen in recent months and some were predicting that Sunderland could sneak a draw at Anfield. Liverpool aren’t that bad at home though, and even if Rafa had rotated his squad again Liverpool still had the firing power to comfortably win an otherwise forgettable game.

Mind you, it could have been 2-1 instead of 2-0 if a penalty decision had gone Sunderland’s way, and that could have changed the ending moments (and allowed Keano to get a point away from home?) but the decision went against them and Liverpool ended up easy winners.

Liverpool 3-0 Sunderland

Portsmouth 1-1 Chelsea

Harry Redknapp and Portsmouth are looking strong again, and as Harry said after the game, they’ve now taken points off all of the top 4 teams at Fratton Park. Defoe scored on his debut for Portsmouth and Anelka got Chelsea’s goal - Chelsea are now 6 points behind Arsenal and still 4 behind Manchester United.
