Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to Southampton at Anfield. The visitors took the lead in the second half and ensured the score-line remains intact till the end of the match.
The Reds created few good chances in the first half but it was the visitor who drew the first blood, when Dejan Lovren shocked Anfield with a glancing header inside the penalty box.
Liverpool defensively looked solid in the first half but since conceding that goal, they looked quite vulnerable at the back and were fortunate not to concede more.
Southampton were actually the last team to beat Liverpool, at home towards the end of last season and here they are ending Liverpool’s unbeaten run to the season.
