Manchester United suffered two big blows during the International break. Midfielder Daley Blind suffered a knee ligament injury yesterday that would force him out of action for up to four weeks, while goal keeper David de Gea has dislocated his little finger on his right hand but the extent of his injury is still unknown.

The injury to De Gea created all sorts of rumour in the English press. While Spanish media outlets kept on reporting that the injury isn’t serious; English press kept themselves busy in exaggerating on the injury. In the past few days we have seen reports like De Gea will be absent for a month and that Manchester United will sign Victor Valdes at the earliest and the former Barcelona goal keeper is set to play his first match for his new club against Arsenal this weekend.

Mundo Deportivo reports today that Manchester United cannot sign Valdes within this week, as the Spaniard has not yet recovered fully from the anterior cruciate injury he suffered against Celtic last March.

Valdes has been training with the Red Devils, in an attempt to recover fully from his hamstring injury, but he is not fit enough to replace De Gea this Saturday against Arsenal. Dane goal keeper Anders Lindegaard will start instead, if De Gea fails to recover in time.
