US Women’s National Team 2011 Shirts

Nike has launched the 2011 USA Women National Soccer Team kit. The kit is designed for increased performance and a lower environmental impact.

This summer in Germany, USWNT will be wearing the Nike’s most environment-friendly and technologically advanced uniform. Each kit is made entirely from recycled polyester produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles.

The away kit has already been unveiled and debuted on-pitch in this past weekend’s friendly against Japan.

Recycled plastic bottles were diverted from landfill sites and then melted down to produce a new DRI-FIT yarn that was ultimately converted to fabric for the jerseys. This process saves raw materials and reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing virgin polyester.

However, innovative performance elements have been sacrificed while considering the environment. The players will be drier, cooler and more comfortable – allowing them to maintain an optimum body temperature and perform at their best.

The kit is designed specifically for female athletes, to enhance the range of motion and create a uniquely feminine silhouette.

Capped sleeves and a high neck-line with a V-neck piping were added to create a striking aesthetic.

Although both the home and away shirts look absolutely fantastic and it will probably look classy on the field but I have to say that the lining makes it look like a very revealing kit but it is not sadly.

Also, it kind of looks like one of those Japanese dresses that their women wear. Take a look below and let us know what you think:

The home kit is white with black piping:

The away kit features a black bodice and red piping inspired by the deadly Black Widow Spider. Do you know why they call it the Black Widow Spider?
