Ustari middle-fingers Manchester United and Barcelona, Signs With Getafe

Ustari middle-fingers Manchester United and Barcelona, Signs With Getafe

Ahmed…I wrote this for you, knowing that you have secretly wanted Oscar Ustari to sign with Manchester United.

Well, it’s probably old news by now, but Oscar Ustari, the super Argentinian goalkeeping prodigy signed with Getafe CF under Michael Laudrup a few days back. It’s a significant period in this young guys development, and the more I look at his goalkeeping ability, the more he reminds me of Casillas (just call it goalkeeping intuition). The young Argentine has shown some great presence in goal over a pretty well pronounced career.

Ustari’s 6 year deal will really bolster his ability in the La Liga, and I feel that his goalkeeping skills will truly become uncanny over the coming few seasons (he has brilliant presence).

Overall, it is a better move for the young guy than signing with Manchester United, where I feel he would have had to have fought hard to pry open his chance to prove his worth against Van der Saar. Here is a video preview of a goalkeeper I feel will be one of the best in the coming few years.

Ed’s Note: So what do you guys think? Should Manchester United have moved for Oscar Ustari or are Manchester United’s current crop of young keepers (Foster and Kuszczak) better than Ustari? Or should Barca have snapped him up as a long-term replacement for Valdes?

Discuss away.

    Melvin,

Beg to differ, this kid will be something special. If not, curse the day I proclaimed this!

Fantastic potential. Definately one of the most promising goalkeepers to come from the Americas – along with the Mexican kid, Francisco Guillermo Ochoa.

    Fantastic signing for Getafe…

He’s definitely better than Kuszczak, and he’s got good shot-stopping skills and handling, seems a very promising player. I agree with Alan, this guy and Ochoa are real bright prospects. But still, we don’t really need him, do we? I think Foster has what it takes to fill Van der Sar’s shoes. Still, whenever Getafe choose to sell, they’ll make a tidy little profit

Hes a brilliant goalkeeper and made the right decision going to getafe, he will play ther evry week without a doubt but if he chose to go to manchester or barca he would not be gaurenteed football which would hold him back, after a few seasons in la liga with getafe his performances will determine if he is capable of playing for man utd barca or any top european teams, so he has easily made the best decision.

He just might be the next Ubaldo Fillol, who knows?

Certainly better than some new goal-keepers out there. Certainly better than kuszczak. Though the dude’s not bad, let’s admit… his name is harder than putting a ball in his net.

Two kids i’m definately putting my money on is Tim Krul (newcastle united) and Ochoa.
