If the stars, zodiacs and all other super natural forces don’t interfere, Edinson Cavani’s move to Manchester United could be a high possibility. English press thinks so. French media also opine the same.

As always, there are two sides of the story. In case of a transfer news, there are a minimum three angles – player and the two (or multiple) clubs.

With Financial Fair Play kicking in (PSG already accepted the terms set out to them by UEFA), PSG might have to sell the Uruguayan to pursue their summer targets – Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Oscar.

Even without FFP, Cavani’s stay at PSG would be far from sure – he’s tired of playing in the right wing and is seriously considering a move to a club where he could lead the line. Right now, the two options for him seem to be joining Manchester United or staying at PSG but with different conditions arranged. If he doesn’t get enough guarantees that he will be played centrally, Cavani is keen to leave and he reportedly has a great offer from United, who are willing to offer him £9.5m/year.

If Cavani is sold to United for €60m, PSG are planning to use that money to secure their main target for this summer, Hazard. They have already started making contacts with Chelsea and with the player. French magazine Le 10 Sports understands that contacts have been going on for a long time and the Belgian is keen to join PSG.

Manchester United probably need to rebuild their entire squad. Louis van Gaal will be given a transfer war-chest and the Dutchman is willing to spend a chunk of money on a world class striker, with Cavani top of his wish list.

It is highly possible that United will pay the money needed for Cavani but hard to say whether PSG can lure Hazard from Chelsea.
