United Finding New Ways To Drop Points

United Finding New Ways To Drop Points

First United miss a penalty to go 3-1 up at Fulham and end up conceding in the last few minutes. Next United do go 3-1 up and throw it all away conceding two late goals at Goodison. Then, it was the turn of United to claw back a lead, as they came from behind twice against Bolton to secure a 2-2 draw. However, this result is just as infuriating as the rest.

Manchester United are known to be slow starters, usually saving their best form for the second half of the season and all United fans across the globe will hope that this season is no different because simply put, United were dreadful today even worse than their smash and grab victory on Wednesday night against Valencia.

Ferguson decided to go with the front pairing of Michael Owen and Macheda. However, neither of them saw the ball before being replaced by Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez in the second half.

Sunderland were brilliant today and were snapping at the heels of the United players, and had it not been for a brilliant save from VDS Sunderland would have got the goal their efforts deserved.

Manchester United played better in the second half, but they were nowhere near good enough today. Nani went back to the days ‘old’ Nani, and tried to win the game on his own. Anderson and Scholes failed to spray the ball around, Fletcher failed to inspire his team-mates, Berbatov changed the game slightly, but was always having to drop deep into United’s half to receive the ball and all these factors equal… a terrible performance.

Many people looked to the fact that United lost to both Everton and Fulham last season, and that United were two points up on last season in those two away trips, but United went to Bolton and Sunderland and won last season, so it means United are now two points behind their tally last season away from home. United have to improve, and fast because their next away game is against Stoke and second best won’t cut it at the Britannia.
