United don’t want Huntelaar, Madrid aren’t interested either

Written by Ahmed Bilal

The rumours linking Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Manchester United are doing rounds all year long and have been doing so ever since Ruud van Nistelrooy was rumoured to be leaving the club.

This season they’ve linked Huntelaar to Real Madrid as well, presumably because people think Madrid are thinking of replacing RvN or at least getting in a replacement ahead of time.

Is there any other serious link apart from the Dutch connection?

Manchester United haven’t even had Huntelaar watched, they (in retrospect this is bollocks - they’ve probably had him scouted out but not done anything about it) have been interested in Berbatov for a long time and in recent years Ferguson has preferred to wait for his players instead of going out and signing backup replacements (the way he waited one year for Hargreaves).

Madrid themselves have said that they’re not looking to make any more signings this summer, although the press continues to link them to other players.

So here’s a prediction - Huntelaar isn’t moving this summer. Just like the other ‘big’ transfers that didn’t happen.

The newspapers aren’t giving any quote and there is no mention of source wither. Look how they make up these stories!

He was linked to Arsenl for a while, I doubt that move will happen as well since Arsenal are in for midfielders only now, eh.

Still, a move to Arsenal could suit him much better.

Eh, yes they have! Scouts from United have been to see him in action over the past couple of seasons.

  4. Manchester United haven’t even had Huntelaar watched

Funny you’d state that as fact (or as if you are aware of it) when you’re debunking news articles claiming he’s going to sign.

My point being, just as newspapers haven’t any credible source to back their claim that Huntelaar is going to United, so don’t you have any proof to say that United don’t have Huntelaar watched.

    Constructive criticism is all. :)

  5. I thought twice about adding that line and almost didn’t. In retrospect that’s bollocks since they probably HAVE had him watched, so thanks for catching me.

  6. Huntelaar may not go to either Madrid or Manchester, but seeing as Ajax have no extra revenue coming in due to their complete absence from Euro club competition, it wouldn’t surprise me if they cashed him in before the deadline.
