Soccerlens TV: Chelsea dominate while Barcelona prove their class

Join celebrated football pundit, author, radio show host and DJ Andy Brassell every Monday on the Soccerlens Show.

It was derby weekend in Europe as Arsenal took on Chelsea, Everton hosted Liverpool and over in Catalunya Barcelona hosted Real Madrid (technically not a derby, but one of the hottest rivalries in Spain).

In this week’s episode, Andy looks at how Chelsea are back to their Mourinho ways under Carlo Ancelotti and how they picked Arsenal apart with alarming ease at the Emirates. If Chelsea are to strengthen their side further this January to take advantage of the suspended transfer ban, they might just have restored the dominance of the Mourinho era.

The show also discusses the Real Madrid and Barcelona clash at Camp Nou and how Barcelona won in a Madridesque fashion, eschewing style for efficiency as Madrid ran Barcelona very close at the top of the table clash on Sunday. It’s a shame that Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t fully fit but Madrid gave a good account of themselves and credit goes to Ibra, Dani Alves and the back three in Valdes, Puyol and Pique.
