Erkin’s agent Batur Altiparmak recently claimed to Turkish Football“We haven’t agreed anything with Fenerbahce. We will hold talks with the club soon.”

Altiparmak also gave a clear indication that premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in securing the services for his client.

“I don’t usually like giving names but it is great for the players confidence that clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are showing an interest.”

An immensely versatile player, Erkin can play either as a left winger or a left back while also playing in a more attacking and advanced role for his side. The 25 year old has featured in 30 appearances for Fenerbahce this season scoring three goals in the process.

While Chelsea are chasing a left back after naming Ashley Cole on the free agents list, Liverpool are also on a look out for a left wing back this summer. Brendan Rodgers has played John Flanagan out of position this season and the home grown player has impressed with his maturity in big games. But the Liverpool manager wants a permanent solution with first choice left back Jose Enrique enduring an injury plagued campaign. Italian side Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in the player.

Caner joined Fenerbahce from Russian side CSKA Moscow while he was still a teenager but the Turk after spending a season on loan with Galatasaray has been integral to Fenerbahce’s recent success, the most prominent of them was reaching the semi finals of the Europa League last season.
