Benedikt Howedes hints at possible Liverpool move:

In an interview with German daily Bild, Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes has hailed Liverpool’s appointment of Jurgen Klopp and has also hinted that he could move to England in the future.

The German World Cup winner continued, “A move abroad excites me. England would for sure be an interesting destination.Currently I am with Schalke. There are no deals sorted. But of course, for a footballer there are some clubs that are more interesting than others.”

With Joe Gomez ruled out for the rest of the season and Dejan Lovren struggling so far this season, Klopp could make a move for a defender in the January transfer window. Howedes who also mentioned that he rejected offers from English clubs in the summer is under contract with Schalke till 2017. However, given his praise for Liverpool and Klopp, the player could make a move if the opportunity arrives in the winter transfer window.

Jese Rodriguez to join Arsenal in January?:

Spanish media outlet Sport reveals that Real Madrid striker Jese could join Arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window. The 22 year old is unhappy over the lack of game time at the Bernabeu and could move elsewhere for regular team football. The Gunners are expected to go head with a loan deal with a buy on option at the end of the season.

The striker’s agent Gines Carvajal was quoted saying by Marca, “He needs to play more, that’s the best way to keep his spirits up. The club will have to make a decision. He’s training well, he’s strong and has to seize the opportunity when it comes“.

Arsenal were interested in the player in the summer but any sort of deal failed to materialize. With Danny Welbeck ruled out till the new year and Olivier Giroud struggling, Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a striker to strengthen his forward line.

Madrid manager Rafa Benitez though might have no intentions to sell as Jese features heavily in his plans, second to only Karim Benzema in the striking department.

Sporting Lisbon defender drops Manchester United transfer hint:

Sporting Lisbon defender Paulo Oliveira has admitted interest from Manchester United is a good sign for him. In an interview with TV station Antena 1 as reported by media outlet O Jogo, the defender said, “It’s a good sign. “

“Not knowing the truth of these facts, above all it’s good to know that my work is being assessed and I have to continue to work to not fall asleep.”

Louis Van Gaal had earlier sent scouts to watch the 23 year old in action as the Dutch manager attempts to strengthen his defense in January. United have a history of doing transfer business with Sporting when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and recently Marcos Rojo. Is Oliveira next on the list?
