I'm looking forward to seeing what Sunderland does next season - losing Jones for a little while is going to hurt, but they could exceed people's expectations once again and move up a few more places in the table.

Goian - apparently, he's not coming to Sunderland now, as the move fell through at the last minute.

Malbranque - he should be wrapped up soon, along with Chimbonda and Tainio, and maybe Kaboul, if he changes his tune.

Well said about kaboul. How does he have the right to stick his nose up at us when Tottenham were massive underacheivers last season and sunderland (who were expected by some to go straight back down again)finished within four places of them. Also do you have any recent news on the transfers of Steed Malbranque and Dorin Goian to Sunderland. If so thanks.

Levy's comments on the Berbatov affair do not convince me that he is anything other than a hard nosed play actor. His moralising especially seems out of place. He poached Seville's manager when it suited him, and is very much into this sort of game himself. His hard stance is all about money, and the real hypocrisy lies in his attempt to make it seem a matter of principle. The indications are that there is dialogue between the two clubs, there is a process of hard bargaining in course, and Mr Levy perhaps (to put it kindly) is simply out to get leverage in this regard. SAF is much too experienced a hand to have spoken as he did if there had not in fact been official dealings between the two clubs. So - come off it Levy.
