Transfer Rumors (07 June 08): Alves set for Barcelona, Berbatov to AC Milan, Riera (or Milner) to Liverpool, and more

Today’s roundup is pretty abbreviated, so, by the time you finish reading, you’ll still have plenty of time to make your final bets before Euro 2008 starts.

Cristiano Ronaldo may want to move to Real Madrid, or he may not, but whatever the case, if he does, it could cost him handsomely, as the Daily Mail says that Manchester United are working a big-money endorsement deal with Nike that could pay Ronaldo 100,000 pounds per week–which would take his weekly earnings a shade above the 200,000 Real could offer him.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Will that be enough to keep him in Manchester? It’s a deal that very well may not happen if he moves to Real (an adidas club), but I suppose we’ll know one way or another soon.

Barcelona have all but wrapped up the signing of Daniel Alves from Sevilla, after the La Liga foes agreed on a fee of 32 million euros plus incentives.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Sevilla will also be able to get Mallorca defender Fernando Navarro, who Barca co-own.

Meanwhile, Barca’s Giovani dos Santos has finalized his move to Tottenham. Spurs will pay 4.7 million pounds up front, but the fee could rise to 8.6 million depending on appearances.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Where will he fit in early on at Tottenham?

While Arsenal are not likely to let Emmanuel Adebayor go to AC Milan, even if they offer upwards of 30 million pounds, the Rossoneri could go for another London-based striker, in Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov.

Rumor Rating: 4 – Manchester United has been linked heavily with him in the past, but with United likely to pursue a cheaper option like Roque Santa Cruz, AC Milan’s path to signing Berbatov might be pretty clear, provided they’re prepared to pay up handsomely.

Liverpool have completed a 7 million pound move for Udinese left back Andrea Dossena.

Rumor Rating: 5- Rafa Benitez has made two solid defensive signings in Dossena and Swiss defender Philipp Degen, and now it’s time to address other areas.

Speaking of other areas, the Daily Mirror says that Rafa could seal the signature of either Espanyol’s Albert Riera or Newcastle’s James Milner very soon.

Rumor Rating: 5 – Riera has asked for a move from Espanyol, while Milner has been rumored with the exit door at St. James’ Park due to the wage cuts that are going on with the club, so both are likely available, and for a decent price.

Well, I told you today’s roundup would be short, and this is it for today – chime in, chip in, and I’ll be back tomorrow.
